I’m Dr. Faisel Syed and I want to personally invite you to join me on a journey that is both deeply personal and deeply transformative— for both physicians and patients alike.
As a board-certified family physician, I’ve dedicated my life to serving underserved communities— whether it was as a community physician at Tampa Family Health Centers, providing care to seniors at ChenMed or most recently working with Medicaid patients at Cityblock Health. Through all these experiences, one truth has always stood out to me: the physician-patient relationship is sacred. It’s about more than treating a diagnosis— it’s about walking alongside someone in their health journey with empathy, trust and genuine care.
But over the years, I’ve watched our healthcare system become increasingly transactional. Primary care physician particularly, are facing levels of burnout higher than ever before with over 90% reporting exhaustion from the demands of seeing 25-35 patients a day. Many feel stuck, tied to the grind of the fee-for-service model. Their fulfillment has been drained and sadly many physician have left the practice of medicine altogether.
At the same time, patients are frustrated too. They want more than just a prescription- they want access to their physicians, guidance on how to live better and a true partnership in their health.
This isn’t the healthcare system we were meant to have.
The good news is, we have an opportunity to change it.
